Full course description

This course is designed to assist individuals in enhancing their leadership abilities for application in their future roles within the field of public health. Participants will be prompted to thoughtfully consider the definition and implementation of leadership models, as well as the utilization of effective communication and negotiation skills. The course will cover areas such as supervisory techniques, empowerment strategies, decision-making guidance, and productive teamwork in the context of public health practice. Delivered online and at your own pace, the course will incorporate readings, pre-recorded lectures, videos, self-reflections, group discussions, role-play simulations, and practical instances showcasing leadership in public health.

This course is approximately 15-20 hours to complete.  Successful completion of this course leads to a non-credit badge and is one of four courses in the Public Health Workforce Development Non-credit Micro-credential.  Completion of three of the four courses leads to the Public Health Workforce Development Non-credit Micro-credential.
