Its scope extends beyond addressing mere mental illnesses, encompassing a holistic perspective on how society can foster its own well-being. Mental health services hold the potential to revolutionize our strategies for tackling issues such as substance abuse, anxiety disorders, and post-traumatic stress disorder. They play a substantial role in shaping the trajectory of our evolving public health landscape. This course offers an introductory exploration of public health strategies aimed at preventing and intervening in mental health disorders. It covers a range of approaches and interventions at various levels, including community-based, school-centered, family-oriented, and individual-focused methods.
This course is approximately 15-20 hours to complete. Successful completion of this course leads to a non-credit badge and is one of four courses in the Public Health Workforce Development Non-credit Micro-credential.
